INFORMATION ABOUT RENTING THE BARN
Location & Accessibility
Windy Rafters Barn
is located 19 minutes (33 km.) west of Lethbridge, or 10 minutes (13 km.) east of Fort Macleod on the #3 highway. Turning
south 4 km. on a paved/oiled road will get you here.
Facilities available:

Barn Capacities
Capacity rating: The barn is rated at 187 people.
Meal capacity: For a sit down banquet style meal, 125 people is a nice comfortable amount, however we can seat
up to 155 people in the main hall but it is crowded.
Seating during main floor use: At this point, we feed and then put away tables for dance or other main floor
use.
Seating for resting/observation
in main hall during a dance/hall activity consists of 48 bench/chair seats, 26 (casual table seats) in loft, 36 (casual
table seats) south end of main hall. And of course there’s the great outdoors in the south courtyard.
Music
We can DJ many types
and styles of dances (We can give dance lessons for: the 2
step, line dance, Macarena, Jive, Virginia Reel, All American Promenade, Patty Cake polka, chicken dance, bunny hop, etc).
We can also recommend
some bands.
Alcohol
There is no alcohol
at open public dances or events. Private, closed bookings, require their own ‘Liquor Special Event License’ (available
at liquor store $10-$25) and ‘Party Alcohol Liability Insurance’ (available at insurance company $125-$150) and
intoxication is not tolerated. Above 2 documents must be presented before rental occupancy can commence.
Water
The
water comes from a well and is tested regularly and is certified
safe for drinking. However, it does not go through all the processing and
additives that city water goes through and will probably taste different. We
recommend that you plan on flavoring it. If you’re going to drink it straight
you may wish to bring bottled water.
Food
We can cater a complete
roast beef dinner, chicken, lasagna, ham, or a smaller sandwich lunch. We do not cater for weddings.

Policies
Smoking
allowed ONLY in ‘Smoke House’
All
beverage containers with spigots must have a drip tray.
All
tables used must have table cloths.
No candles or open flames - use battery T lights
No confetti
Clean Up (depending on type of rental other arrangements can be made)

All areas accessed, including parking area, and corridors,
shall have garbage picked up.
· All wooden or cement floors and corridors accessed shall be swept. (brooms in employee
room).
· Garbage’s are to be emptied and bags hauled to BFI bin.
· All tables and chairs used shall be wiped down and returned to original location.
· BBQ to be washed down and serving area scrubbed if used.
· Fridge to be wiped out if used.
- All staples,
tacks, nails and tape to be removed
